The International Harvester from the movie Real Steel is for sale
It's the one and only truck used in the 2011 film.
We’ve featured movie cars in the past - the Lucra LC470 from Fast and Furious 6, for example. But this 1960 International Harvester Sightliner is a far cry from the open-top sports car. Playing a starring roll in the 2011 movie Real Steel, it’s up for sale on eBay with a current bid of $27,877 (per this writing).
The truck has been heavily modified, and under the hood is a modern turbodiesel six-cylinder engine. Modern brakes and modern suspension components were also added since there were no backup trucks for the film, which would assure the Sightliner was continually in working condition.
The cabin was also fitted with a few new features, including some switches - functional and non-functional - cut from billet, and a knob in the center console that controls the hydraulic lift ramp. Two extra windshields were added at the feet of the driver for aesthetics, and even include their own set of wipers.
The back, though, is home to some of the coolest features. The bed, the overhead storage, and the work bench, along with a few other details, remain from the film. It’s the exact setup used by Hugh Jackman’s character, Charlie Kenton, to transport his fighting robot.
The entire build reportedly cost the crew close to $250,000. Lucky for you, you likely won’t be paying as much for this unique piece of movie memorabilia.
